City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder residents are invited to nominate young people, youth support workers or youth organisations as part of the City’s annual Youth Awards.
The Youth Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of young individuals and organisations making a significant difference in the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community.
Nominations span across six categories:
- Young Achiever Award
- Young Tradesperson or Apprentice of the Year
- Young Community Champion
- Young Cultural Leader
- Youth Worker or Volunteer of the Year
- Youth Organisation of the Year
Youth Mayor Emilee Stewart said the young people of Kalgoorlie-Boulder are doing extraordinary things and should be recognised and celebrated for their efforts.
“The Youth Awards provide an opportunity for our exceptional young leaders and service organisations to be recognised for all they do in our community.”
“I’m sure that there will be many nominees this year. There have been so many great initiatives taking place for young people in the past year, and I think it’s important to shine a spotlight on these accomplishments and the people involved.”
“The Youth Council is preparing a spectacular evening to celebrate these achievements and looking forward to receiving many nominations across this year’s categories.”
The judging criteria for nominations will consider factors such as demonstrated leadership on community issues, excellence in work or study, significant contributions to the local community and/or culture, positive influence on the lives of young people, and other noteworthy achievements or contributions.
Winners will receive a cash prize of $500 and have their achievements showcased throughout the year to highlight their community impact and inspire others.
Recipients will be announced at the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Youth Awards evening, on Friday 14 June 2024 from 5pm – 8:30pm. All nominees and their families will be invited to attend.
Youth Awards eligibility information and nomination forms are available on the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s website. Nominations close 5pm, Thursday 30 May 2024.
