Find out about the recreational facilities in the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder including health clubs, parks, playgrounds and more. Information on horse and motor racing is also available here.

Swimming pools, gyms and health clubs

The Goldfields Oasis Recreation Centre is the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s main recreational complex, with swimming pools, game courts, gymnasium and health club.
Located on Johnson Street, it also has a water playground, and a 10m outdoor water slide and a river ride.

The Eastern Goldfields YMCA provides has a public gymnasium and indoor squash courts.

There is a private health club on Lionel Street, half way between Kalgoorlie and Boulder.

Parks, cycle paths and playgrounds

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder boasts many local parks, with barbecues and playground facilities, and a resident wildlife population.

The most popular parks are:

  •  Centennial Park, on Hannan Street
  •  Hammond Park, on Lyall Street
  •  Kingsbury Park, on Wilson Street.

There are also several well-maintained cycle path throughout the City, from Karlkurla Bushland Park in the north, to Boulder in the south.

Horse and motor racing

The Kalgoorlie-Boulder Racing Club is a popular sporting organisation. Its racing season stretches from March to September.

The Golden Mile Trotting Club in Kalgoorlie has a large number of regular supporters. Its season starts in August and culminates in their New Year’s Eve event.

The Kalgoorlie International Speedway is another popular attraction in the Goldfields, attracting drivers from all over the region, as well as state-, national- and international-level competitions.
