Channel your creativity in our School Holiday Workshops

Young people with a passion for music can channel their creativity in a song writing workshop being held as part of the City’s School Holiday Program.

The workshop, facilitated by local singer and songwriter Lynn Hazelton, will teach young people the foundations of song writing.

Youth Coordinator Owen Hinton said Lynn would take the young people through the basic steps of transforming a story or idea into a song.

“There’s a great pool of really talented young people here in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, and we want to help them develop their talents and build their confidence,” he said.

“Activities like this help kids who may be self-taught to refine and develop their skills and help take them to the next level. Lynn Hazelton is an experienced musician and song writer who has worked with and mentored many emerging musical talents.”

The workshop will be held from 12noon until 4pm in the Goldfields Arts Centre Ensemble Room on Wednesday 18 January 2017.  Young people aged 12-18 with a passion for expression and creativity are encouraged to attend.  Register your interest at www.ckb.wa.gov.au/Youth-events.
