WA Opera Concert a night to remember!

The Goldfields Arts Centre will be bringing the crème de la crème of WA Opera to Kalgoorlie-Boulder, with a simulcast of the City of Perth’s Opera in the Park live from the Supreme Court Gardens.

City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Acting CEO Ivana Castle said the free simulcast would mark the 50th anniversary of the WA Opera, so the Goldfields Arts Centre would be making it a night to remember.

“The WA Opera have put together an exciting program of operatic presented by Australian artists, with the West Australian Opera Chorus and the West Australian Symphony Orchestra conducted by Brad Cohen,” she said.

“Traditionally, a night out at the opera should be celebrated and WA Opera are encouraging audiences, whether they are in Perth or watching the simulcast in a region venue like the Goldfields Arts Centre, to wear evening dress, black tie, or a costume from their favourite opera to the show.”

Audiences will be able to get involved on the night, with the opportunity to join in a basic, fun vocal exercise at the beginning of Act Two.

The Goldfields Arts Centre will be embracing the gala night, with a red carpet entrance, a glass of champagne on arrival and pre-show canapes. Audiences are encouraged to post their photos of the night on social media and tag #WAOpera #OITP and #kalgoorlie.
