Work on the Brookman Street Redevelopment project is scheduled to begin in mid-January, between Wilson and Lane Streets, Kalgoorlie.
The redevelopment will refresh the streetscape and create a safer environment for both vehicles and pedestrians, and will see both sides of the street upgraded with brick paved footpaths, refreshed garden beds and upgraded street lighting.
The steep grades of the on-street parking will be removed and the area reconfigured to create additional parking and motor cycle bays.
Works will be completed in sections to minimise impact to businesses and pedestrians, with the first stage of works to be the removal of trees along Brookman Street opposite Woolworths. These trees will be replaced with a suitable species.
Traffic management will be in place, and pedestrian access will remain open.
Further information on the redevelopment is available in the Ordinary Council Meeting minutes from 12 December 2016 found here
