PROPOSED CHANGE TO PROPERTY LOCAL LAW DETERMINATION – PROHIBIT SMOKING IN LISTED CITY PREMISES

Council is reviewing its policy for smoking on City premises.
 
At the Ordinary Council Meeting of 22 May 2017, Council resolved to endorse the proposal to prohibit smoking in City listed premises.
The purpose of this determination is to:
•           Reduce exposure to second hand smoke; and
•           Promote healthier and enjoyable environments on City premises.
 
The effect of this proposed determination is to prohibit smoking in listed City owned, managed or leased premises. ‘Premises’ means a building, stadium or similar structure but not an open space such as a park or playing field.
A copy of the proposed determination and list of City premises can be viewed at the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Administration Office, 577 Hannan Street and at the William Grundt Memorial Library, 11 Roberts Street, notice boards or online via the City's website.
Submissions must be in writing and lodged no later than 5pm 27 June 2017 to:
