Community and recreation strategies

Find out about the community and recreation strategies in the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, including strategies related to horses and reserves.

Equine strategy

Recent experience has indicated a need for a more strategic approach to equine or horse-related issues.

The primary aim of the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder's equine strategy was to identify and analyse issues associated with activities related to horses. It was adopted in 2006.

The project is directed by a steering group with the following membership:

  •  2 Councillors
  •  Chief Executive Officer or nominee
  •  Kalgoorlie-Boulder Urban Landcare Group representative
  •  7 community representatives from equine-related groups, or from the wider community.

Open space and recreation planning strategy

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is developing an open space and recreation planning strategy to determine if there is enough open space in the City for recreational purposes.
