What is the Youth Council?
The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Youth Council represents young people living and working in Kalgoorlie-Boulder. The Youth Council is an opportunity for young people to have their voices heard by the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and City Councillors, enabling them to provide input into the decision making processes of the City.
There are 20 positions available on the Youth Council for young people aged 12 to 25. Youth Councillors are responsible for initiating and coordinating youth-related projects and events and act as youth ambassadors to businesses and the wider community. Youth Strategic Action Plan 2014-2017
The Youth Strategic Action Plan was developed in consultation with Kalgoorlie-Boulder young people. The plan details the needs and values of young people in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and provides a framework of guiding principles for the Youth Council to achieve the vision of a safe, stimulating and supportive environment for all young people.

Youth Council Meetings
The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Youth Council meets for 1 hour every 2 weeks:
- Informal meetings are held every second Tuesday from 5:00pm in the Councillors Conference Room at the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Administration Building.
- Formal meetings are held on the last Tuesday of every second month at 5.15pm in the Council Chambers at the Kalgoorlie Town Hall. Formal meetings are conducted in similar manner to Ordinary council meetings, with an agenda of items that need to be voted on.
