The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is delighted to once again welcome delegates, media, and guests from around the globe to the annual Diggers and Dealers Mining Forum. As one of the premier events in the mining industry, Diggers and Dealers plays a crucial role in our local economy and showcases the vibrant spirit and rich heritage of our community.

Mayor Glenn Willson said the City recognised the significant positive economic and reputational impact on our region, and is proud to host over 2,500 delegates each year.

“The high level of involvement in the mining industry, coupled with Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s state-of-the-art conference facilities, dynamic and cosmopolitan lifestyle, and booming economy, makes Kalgoorlie-Boulder the ideal choice of venue for the Southern Hemisphere’s largest mining forum.”

“Alongside the impressive lineup of guest speakers and attendees, the event brings extensive media exposure to Kalgoorlie-Boulder, highlighting our city's unique offerings on a national and international stage.”

“I am sure that, yet again, the innovative Diggers and Dealers Forum will put our City on the national and international mining and investment map this year.”

“We are dedicated to creating unique experiences for attendees and enhancing the overall appeal and success of the event,” Mayor Wilson said.

In its 2024/25 budget, the City allocated funding to assist in building a permanent all-weather events pavillion. This new structure will not only provide a robust and reliable setting for Diggers and Dealers but will also serve as a versatile space for various markets, events, and activities, benefiting the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community year-round.

Mayor Glenn Wilson said this investment is a testament to the City’s commitment to ensuring Kalgoorlie-Boulder remains a premier host for the Diggers and Dealers event into the future.

“The City remains committed to hosting this globally significant event, and this events pavillion will assist the City in having an all-weather venue for events and activities that further benefit our community.

"Our city is committed to not only celebrating the achievements of the mining sector but also to ensuring that our community thrives alongside industry. The new venue is a significant step in that direction, providing a lasting legacy for both our residents and visitors."

As Chair of the Mining Cities Alliance, Mayor Wilson says he will continue to support and advocate for mining regions across Australia.
“It’s important that we address the livability of mining communities, the impact of mining activities, and the industry's role in supporting mining cities through continued sustainable practices.”

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder looks forward to another successful Diggers and Dealers event, celebrating collaboration, industry innovation, community spirit, and economic vitality.
