The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder launched its 2024 Higher Education and Training Guide last week, highlighting the City’s exceptional facilities and diverse opportunities for learners at every stage of their careers.

Launched at Curtin University’s Kalgoorlie-Boulder Open Day on August 22, the guide showcases the full range of education providers, from university programs to vocational education, as well as pathways for apprenticeships and traineeships. It also highlights the support services in place to assist job seekers and students to further their skills and careers.

Mayor Glenn Wilson said the City was excited to launch the guide and showcase Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s excellence in education and training.

“Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s modern, state-of-the-art education and training facilities are an integral part of our community. They provide a wealth of opportunities for people to pursue their career ambitions and contribute significantly to community and individual wellbeing.”

He highlighted Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s unique advantage in fostering strong connections between education providers and local industries, enabling significant collaborative research and hands-on learning experiences.

"While our city has deep roots in mining, Kalgoorlie-Boulder has evolved into a thriving regional centre that supports a wide range of sectors. Our educational offerings reflect this diversity, with programs spanning mining, business, education, health, hospitality, and construction—each tailored to meet the needs of modern industries and ensuring our students remain at the forefront of innovation," he added.

Mayor Wilson also praised the extensive support available for students through local networks and training providers, which help guide them through their education journey.

"Kalgoorlie-Boulder offers a nurturing environment for all students. We are committed to ensuring that everyone has access to the resources and support they need to thrive in their chosen field. We wish all students success as they explore the many opportunities presented in this guide."
