National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
The dates are the same each year: 27 May to 3 June.
These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the Australian reconciliation journey— the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively.
The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2023 is Be a Voice for Generations.
This theme encourages all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation in tangible ways in our everyday lives – where we live, work and socialise.
For the work of generations past, and the benefit of generations future, act today for a more just, equitable and reconciled country for all.

Visit the William Grundt Library and check out the display showcasing various literary works from Aboriginal writers and covering Reconciliation themes.

An exhibition exploring the stories behind the First Nations servicemen & women during war time.
Seniors Craft

Join artist Ash Jangala Smith at the Eastern Goldfields Community Centre, who will guide seniors through the creation of an Aboriginal art project. The outcome will be a beautiful unique piece of art for the centre.

To conclude our National Reconciliation Week events and activities we invite you to join us for an afternoon of entertainment for all to enjoy.
Enjoy a free BBQ and get your friends and family together for a game of street sports. Participate in our Community Mural Painting Project, facilitated by First Nations artist Ash Jangala Smith. Everything is free and all are welcome to attend. It’s set to be a great day out!
