The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder provides you with an opportunity to study, whilst you gain hands-on experience in your chosen field - all while getting paid to do something you enjoy!How does it work?

All trainees and apprentices are provided with an on-boarding program that supports their entry into the workforce. Mentors are available to assist in ensuring trainees are supported during their career journey with the City.

Traineeships

Each year, the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder hosts a number of trainees who are placed in a range of disciplines across the organisation.

In the past, these areas have included:

• Goldfields Arts Centre
• Information Management
• Waste Management
• Community Development
• Indigenous Health
• Finance
• People and Culture
• Fitness
• Development and Growth
• Horticulture
• Executive Business

Traineeships are for a period of 12 months and at the end of this you will receive a certificate in your chosen field.

Apprenticeships

An apprentice is employed with the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder for four years. During this time, you will work alongside experienced qualified tradespeople.

Formal off-the-job training will be provided through a Nationally Accredited TAFE and at the end of the apprenticeship you will obtain a Trade Certificate in your chosen field.

• Sports Turf
• Greenkeeper

When do applications open?

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s Traineeships and Apprenticeships open at the end of the calendar year with the successful candidates to be offered positions in January/February the following year.
