The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder has received funding from the Department of Communities to help attract and retain early childhood education and care staff in the Goldfields region.
The Goldfields Professional Development Project, which the City will deliver in partnership with the Shires of Coolgardie and Leonora, will fund various professional development opportunities for early childhood educators in the three Goldfields Local Government Areas in 2024-25.
The project is proposed to hold various free professional development opportunities in the Goldfields with trained facilitators delivering sessions in Kalgoorlie-Boulder open to all Goldfields early childhood education and care staff, and also visits to centres in the Shires of Coolgardie and Leonora. The grant will provide funding for travel costs for early childhood education and care staff from those Shires to enable them to access the professional development.
