This Saturday’s Multicultural Festival promises a showstopping line-up of entertainment and food celebrating the diversity of the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community.

The festival will see the Lord Forrest Precinct, Cassidy Street and the Goldfields Arts Centre Forecourt come to life with a showcase of cultural performances, music, dancing, food trucks and stalls with traditional food from around the world.

Residents will also have the opportunity to browse a range of cultural displays and enjoy many family-friendly activities.

City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Mayor John Bowler said the Multicultural Festival is one of the most popular events on the City’s annual events calendar and always proves to be an enjoyable evening for residents of all ages.

"This year’s Multicultural Festival will feature a roving Mariachi Band and Stilt Walkers as well as henna tattooing, face painting, and lots of other family fun.

“We’ll be treated to great live entertainment from local community groups, and delicious food from around the world including Indonesia, India, Italy, Germany, the United States, and Ghana.”

"It’s always wonderful to celebrate our residents from different cultural backgrounds and partake as they share their traditions and customs with all of us. These vibrant experiences are what makes our community wonderful."

“I encourage everyone to come and enjoy the fantastic festival atmosphere and then continue their cultural experience at the Goldfields Arts Centre’s Cirque Mother Africa performance at 7:30pm,” said Mayor Bowler.

The event will also feature an adults-licensed area, by Lucky Bay Brewing and the Esperance Gin Distillery Adults and scattered fire pits to stay warm.

Parking is available at the Goldfields Art Centre carpark and surrounding streets. Cassidy Street (between MacDonald Street and the Goldfields Art Centre carpark) will be closed from 10am to 10 pm on Saturday.
