The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is calling for community nominations for the 2025 Australia Day Awards. These awards recognise outstanding individuals, groups, and events that have made a significant impact over the past year.

This year’s Award Categories are:
• Citizen of the Year
• Young Citizen of the Year
• Volunteer of the Year
• Community Group/Event of the Year

Mayor Glenn Wilson urged community members to consider those around them who have gone above and beyond to make Kalgoorlie-Boulder a truly special place. "The spirit of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is truly unique. One of generosity, resilience, and connection—qualities that both new residents and visitors notice straight away.”

“The Australia Day Awards allow us to shine a light on the incredible individuals, volunteers, and groups who are the heart of our community, tirelessly giving of their time, energy, and talents to make our city what it is today."

He added "Australia Day is a time for us to come together and celebrate what makes our community special, and this awards ceremony is a key part of that tradition. I'm looking forward to recognising more outstanding community members next year.” "If you know someone who’s made a meaningful impact, don't let this opportunity pass by – nominate them and help us acknowledge their contributions.”

Winners will be announced during the City’s annual Australia Day event at Centennial Park on Sunday, 26 January 2025.
