Proposed Temporary Closure of Davyhurst-Ora Banda Road

It is hereby notified that, in accordance with Section 3.50 (1a) of the Local Government Act 1955, the City of Kalgoorlie- Boulder has received an application from Ora Banda Mining to temporarily close Davyhurst-Ora Banda Road from Siberia Mine Access Road to North Western Shire Boundary for which the road will be closed to the passage of vehicles for a period of 5 years.
Ora Banda Mining is seeking the temporary closure to allow it to operate higher capacity road trains on the road for its proposed mining operations in the area located approximately 120km north west of Kalgoorlie.
The following users are proposed to be exempt from the proposed temporary closure for which they may use Davyhurst-Ora Banda Road during its closure period:
- Ora Banda Mining employees and contractors.
- Permit holders for which permits have been issued by the City of Kalgoolrie-Boulder.
Any person wishing to comment on the proposed temporary closure may do so in writing addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, PO Box 2042, Boulder WA 6432, within thirty-five (35) days of the publication of this notice. Submissions must be received by 5.00pm, Friday 23 February 2024.
