The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is once again proud to take part in the Australian Heritage Festival, marking 13 years of participation in the nation’s largest community-driven celebration of history.
Over the next month, residents and visitors can enjoy a diverse program of events, exhibitions, and guided tours that bring local history to life.
A highlight of this year’s schedule is a special exhibition commemorating 110 years since the ANZAC landing at Gallipoli. Curated by the City’s History and Heritage team, the exhibition pays tribute to Goldfields soldiers—many of whose stories have never been told before.
“This festival is a great opportunity to step back in time and explore the people, places, and stories that have shaped Kalgoorlie-Boulder into the community we know today,” said Mayor Glenn Wilson.
“The ANZAC exhibition is a powerful tribute, and I’d like to thank our dedicated History and Heritage team for the countless hours spent researching and bringing to light the stories of Goldfields soldiers.”
The program includes collaborative events with the Eastern Goldfields Historical Society, Goldfields Aboriginal Language Centre, Kalgoorlie-Boulder Visitor Centre, Kalgoorlie-Boulder Cemetery Board, and the National Trust.
“Whether you're interested in local stories, family activities, or guided tours, I encourage everyone to get involved and make the most of what’s on offer,” Mayor Wilson added.
